      Street Machine of the Year

It is getting very late here and after being in the sun all day I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to make much of a post about all the cool happenings... but I thought I'd fill you guys in on some photos from today's Street Machine of the Year Autocross. Look for more info in the next few days as we get a chance to post:

More photos (and videos to come) here:

And I LOVE the fact they are driving them. Do they just have to drive them or does a lap time factor in some how?

those pictures are the best thing that ive seen on here.. this may probably be the best thread on PT.com

JUST for the fact that i see those rich bit ches being driven hard!

its like watching your favorite TV/movie actress( jolie, anderson, beil, johanson, alba..etc) getting facked in a porno..

Glad you guys like the photos, look for more static shots and details of the cars tonight.

To answer the question, the cars were required to run 3 laps to qualify for the SMOTY. The times were recorded, however, being the fastest is not what it was about. Just getting the cars out there and showing off was really the only goal.

I personally thought it was a perfect exhibition. Even without trying to set fast time of the day, navigating a car through an autocross course puts a car through forces and stress that never happen otherwise. There were plenty of on the gas moments to make it cool.

Having the competition include the autocross I think these builders might just be looked back on as the very first of a new breed of "supercar". I personally sure hope this becomes a trend.

Someone may want to chime in here if I am wrong, but I think the silver camaro is Kenny's SEMA car from last year? With different wheels.

You are correct - that is the same car. It is sporting the "SEMA wheels" on the show field, they must have swapped to avoid damage on the course.

I've added another batch of photos to galleries - now MOST of the cars have show photos too.

6fastback7, I'm gonna be working on the video - photo posting is much more simple, video takes a while. I have over 100 clips to process and such - We'll get 'ya hooked up - sound and all. Get your speakers ready!

top 5 would have been a hard call to make this year.

I'm guessing the cuda, the red and gold nova, notorious, and kenny's camaro and the orange crush camaro.

That 2 tone Corvette is sick!
But I think either the Notorious Nova or the Ring Brothers Camaro will take SMOTY

i like all the finalists but im gona give it to RingBros again for there originality and for doin something a little different..the carbon fibre body parts and the sick interior is a winner for me..and i luv the color combo
