Painting last? or susp, etc. last?
Im in a dilema. Should I get absolutely everything I need fitted on my car before it gets painted? The firewall was shaved so Im thinking I should fit everything and get the car running before I paint it THEN pull it all out and have it painted.
What about my DSE suspension and rear? Should I do this after paint or do everything before it gets painted?
Has anyone got their shell painted then fit everything on after the fact?

Fit everything first if you can... you'll hate to grind, cut, weld, and re-work parts that have already been painted. It's extra time, but it saves TONS in the long run.

I'm in the same boat. My project will be damn near ready to get inspected before it sees paint. Sucks to take it apart but rather do that than come close to a painted car with a torch, grinder, or hammer. Just my .02.

Ditto. In fact, I'm in my second assembly and may do a third yet before paint. With the cost of paint - I'd hate to have to grind/cut/repaint sections.

The ideal way to build a car would be to get everything together and put some miles on it, Then blow it apart and paint it. But in the real world fit everything untill ur happy , blow it apart, and then paint it. You'll be happier in the long run. We fit parts several times threw out a build

cool thanks guys. The painter was planning on spraying it this week but Ive decided to make sure everything fits first then dissassemble it for paint
