Max rim width for a 68' Chevelle

Does anyone have a good combo that really fills the wheelwells for a 68 chevelle. I'm currently running 17x8 (4 3/4 bs) on the front with 245's and 17x9.5 (5 1/2 bs) on the rear with 285's. Everything fits nicely and no rubbing, but I still have room for more. I'm looking to go to a new wheel and would like to accomidate 275 fronts and 335 rears. I already have Bear 13" rotors on B-body spindles. Anyone running this on a 68 chevelle w/o having to mini tub. If so please let me know rim width and BS. I know there was a green Chevelle that is somewhere on the site that I thought was running a 335 rear and 275 front. If anyone has pics please let me know.

335's will be pretty tough with stock sheet metal. Generally 11" wheels with a 315 is considered max for 68-69 velles. A mini tub gains you nothing on an a body since you're hitting the fame at the same time as the tubs...narrowing the rails is the only way to gain inboard room.

For backspacing you have to measure your car but depending on brakes 6.25"BS should be close for a stock rear width. I have 18X11 with a 6.5" BS and I have about .75" between the tire and frame rail with a 315 tire. No body on it yet so I'm not sure about the outer clearance.

      I've also seen 11" max.

      Check this database out:

A 17x11 wheel with a 315/35 and about a 6" bs is about the widest you can go w/o a minitub.
