Covans Dash & AAW Kit

Ok well i scorred a Covans dash and AAW wiring kit for my 67 Firebird. And since funds are allowing it I'm going to pick up some new Stewart Warner Guages These one to be exact..

I was originally going to just install my stockers in there till I could afford to get these. However, i made some really good tips this past week and have enough for my guages and possibly a whole new wiring harness for the car. First question is if i get the new wiring harness for the car does the harness i got with The Covans Dash already come with the new kit? If so How do i order it without it. Second How long would you expect it to take to rewire the whole car?

The previous owner didn't do such a top notch job and its just seems like a nightmare how he did it. My only problem is I leave for Tampa on AUgust 15th while that may seem like a long time away i need to have this car driveable to me that means atleast the seats in, weather stripping on, top installed, winshield installed, headlights and brakeslights working, various trim, locks, handles,new tires and well guages and time to fix gremlins.

Am i going to be cutting this close or will I be able to pull it off?

For time, I'd give you about a week and a half if you've never done it before and you want it to look really good. Take the time to loom everything and match everything to the harness you pull out of the car. Don't cut anything until you've mocked it all in correctly. The Covan's harness should plug right into the AAW kit. It's meant to be plugged into a stock harness, and the AAW kit comes with stock type connectors. Remember to mock things in a couple times so you can final install quickly, and looming EVERYTHING is very important. It'll take a bit of time, and if you want to do it right, take your time. Oh, and if you got the Classic Update kit for your car, the kit comes so you can use stock or aftermarket guages. I think the Covan's harness is pre-made, but I'm not sure. You'll have to make the harness for the AAW kit. It seems to me like you've got enough work ahead of you. If the current harness works, I'd wait to wire the car till you can have it down.

Thank you that helped tremendously. I'm not new to wiring cars but I've mostly only done them for big systems at the shop I used to work at. I think I sometimes put way too much on my plate at a given time. This is one of those times. This will be left for a mini, project at a later date.

The Covan's panel should plug into a AAW update harness. AAW builds the harnesses for Covan's.

Problem number two... I have the AAW Kit to wire up everything but i do not have blade terminals on the back of my SW Gauges to plug into the AAW harness. Does anyone know where i can get the blade terminals from?
