      2nd gen guys--need a little info/would you be interested?

Alright, so I found this rear bumper support for second gen birds the other day while tooling around on the interwebs, and I got to thinking... a nice, boxed aluminum front bumper support could probably be made to be at least close to as strong as the stock steel piece, but would also probably pull an easy 50 pounds off of the very front end of a second gen bird, since the stocker weighs in at something like 80 lbs. I'm contemplating building some of these up if an interest is shown.

So, my questions to you guys are:

      1) Is there anybody out there interested in such a thing other than myself, especially if you could see a prototype and be shown results from some sort of rigidity testing relative to the stocker?
      2) did second gen camaros share the same bumper support as firebirds?

I was thinking about making the same thing for my TA for the exact same reasons. You may be able to produce these in small runs for people. I'm in no place to even be able to consider purchasing so I'm out in those regards.

I'd be interested in one for a 1978 Camaro.

I have been waiting for the front to be made for quite some time now. /if I had better welding skills , I'd do it myself. what makes it tricky is that the front bumpers change w/ every nose change in teh firebird line and they are different from the camaro so it is not a one fits all/ most situation. 74-75 same, 76 is solo, 77-78 same and 79-81 same for firebirds. i'm down for a 78 one. in teh mean time, i introduced my stocker to a plasma cutter.

I have a 72,74, 78 & 79. from them teh only year that would be uncertain would be the 76. I do know that the 79-81 bumber is flatter in the front where the 77-78 is poited to match teh shape of teh crash cushion and nose. the 79-81 used and egg crate style cushion where the 77-78 is formed foam rubber like material. 76 may be similar to 77-78. 74-75 is different all together. i'll check and get some picks this weekend is you would like.
