Years ago I was trying to save some money so I bought loose bannanas wrapped in plastic for less than if they were on the bunch.

It was winter and cold out. When I got home I pulled out a knife to cut away the plastic and out popped a half dead tarantula like that one. Luckily he didn't dig the cold weather. They go pop when stomped on and make a helluva mess.

So do I, but I don't run from the buggers. I usually wind up wearing them on the bottom of my shoe. I'll bet this one would have "popped" real nice.

That looks like the elusive african barking spider. They usually hide under grandpa's chair in the living room, and make their presence known with a bark from time to time.

More power to you & have fun cleaning the mess. I'd rather fight with a rattlesnake in my livingroom before I f*** with that.

You guys are funny. I know that sound when you stomp on them, I did that when I was a little boy in the back yard. It grossed me out when I did it. Ka-splat!! Goo all over my shoe.

I live in a town called Ramona, just 20 miles north of San Diego.

I used a dust pan and a piece of paper to coax it on it and it stuck its rear end up really high like stink bug. Thought that was kinda weird. At least they don't run fast or he could've leaped on to my hand. Then you would've probably seen me act like a lil girl too!! LOL

My wife wasn't home at the time this happened and when I showed her the picture she freaked out! Now she is afraid to walk in the dark.

In the past two months we have had 4 scorpions and now this stupid thing. I looked all around the base boards and doors for cracks and cant find anything. I'm beginning to think they are hitching a ride on my dogs backs when I let them at night? LOL

We get Huntsman spiders in the house all the time, specially in summer, they tend to stay away in winter

No this is not me in the pic...

Gives you an idea of how big they can get. On average we see them about 4" leg tip to leg tip. They either end up on the wrong end of a rolled up paper or thong (sorry flip flop) or I catch them and let them go (depends on the size).

They are funny when they get up on tip toes and walk on the floor. Oh did I mention these things are FAST and can jump like you wouldn't believe!

My wife hates spiders, I can't blame her, I don't mind them too much, but would rather not have them about.
