      69 camaro tail panel replacement

I am considering starting the replacement of the tail panel on my 69 camaro with a NOS piece.
The car has new quarters on it already. Does anyone have any tips/tricks to doing this job without damaging the quarters?
The area I am most concerned about is where the quarters, weatherstrip channel and tail panel meet. It seems fairly straight forward to get everything else removed.

Try to do most of the cutting on the part you are replacing...the tail panel in your case. Then carefully trim the excess off of the quarters with a die grinder and a carbide tip.
