How much drop with QA1 coilovers

Hi!

Is anyone got some QA1 front coilovers on a Trans Am second gen?

I wanted to know how much drop you can get with them.

At top position is it the stock height?
At bottom position, how much it's lower than stock?

I really cant help you with the QA1's.
My friend has them and loves them; he's got his fronts tucked under the wheel openings. I went with the hidden adjusters for the $$ savings and couldn't be happier. The best part about using hidden adjusters is that you can use any brand shocks you want.

Well, you CAN drop it as much as few inches, but QA1 and ourselves only suggest 1 1/2" drop or you run a danger of bottoming the shock out. Which makes for a bit of a rough ride, and does not help the shock either

I am running mine at about half way down, that is with 2" drop spindles though.

Definately. My QA1's bottom out way before my bumpstops get close. Really pisses me off that I had to add 2" under my bumpstops so the shocks won't bottom out.

Don't throw them away, send them to me and i'll stack em up next to my TTII collection. Not a bad shock for the money.

There really aren't very many if any good choices right now.... I personally think the Varishock is much better than QA1. I'm working on trying to fit some Pfadt 16 point adjustable front C5 Coil Overs up front on my 73' but I'm concerned with length, which is the limiting factor. I'll be picking my Camaro up and bringing it to UT this weekend and I'll test fit a set in the next 2 weeks. The shock body height is adjustable so I'll go as short as possible and see what I can figure out.

The shocks on the right are the fronts. This isn't something that would be available tomorrow but I think it's a great option in the near future. Pfadt products are second to none and these coil overs work so well! The lower cups thread on the shock body to adjust height + you can adjust the spring length which would aid in length constraints! The shocks pictured are set up for the Vette and the lower cup can go up a few inches from that point. They wouldn't work with factory C-Arms. They don't currently offer them as a set of 2 fronts but if they fit it may be an option in the near future!

Anyone know what LB spring rate for a LS1 front end? Should be ~ the same as a SBC. QA1 says 250# but then I want to go 1 stronger for added performance so they said get the 350#. Talked to DSE & they say 550#... That is a big difference.

My AME front clip came with 550 lb springs for an LS1.

You guys and your crazy spring rates. I auto cross with 430# fronts, and they run well on the roadcoars with slicks, The street they are not soft, so I don't know how those 750# Hotchkis springs feel. I would go 400-450#, DO not use their variable rate springs! I have about 2" of down travel, so varaible rate is a joke. Also try the Varishocks from Chassis works, they are likely nicer quality.
