      I plan to use Amsoil 100% synthetic. I have been using it for years in my cars and I love it. My boat had a 120 Force "mix" engine on it and I used Amsoil 100% synthetic 2 cycle oil in it. One quart did 24 gallons of gas and that motor burned clean and ran like a champ for all the 9 years that I owned it. I swear by the stuff.

      Amsoil for the DD's. Changing it once a year is great.

      0w30 German Castrol for the LSx in the Chevelle, when she's finally running.

      Rotella T in my GTO.

      In my DD whatever is handy. I go 4 to 5K betwewen changes, and that is every 3 months anyway. I even use Fram filters which are supposed to cause your motor to instantly disintigrate if you read all the "reports" on the web. It has 175K and still has 45psi hot idleing and 80psi driving down the road oil pressure.

      Last week my cousin almost lost an engine to a Fram. Keep using those things if you want, but I've heard the rumors and now I've witnessed it first hand. Those things are junk.

      Sorry to hijack the thread.

      MCSS: Any 20w-50 dino-base I can find... used to see full synthetic before the motor got tired;
      Buick: Valvoline 20w-50 VR1 Racing Oil easier to get than the Brad Penn oil;
      LS1 Camaro: German Castrol Syntec 0w-30;
      Z28: Regular Castrol Syntec 5w-30 from Costco and I think I peed in there once.

      I thought using rotella was really only an issue on cam break in due to the zinc content. No?

      I've had good luck with Castrol 20/50 in my 355 70 Camaro year round here in Central Texas. 3,000 mile reg. changes. Aluminum heads and intake and the roller rockers look great after 25,000 miles.

      Mostly Mobil 1 or royal purple.
      Gear lube too.
      BTW, My shop truck had Mobil 1 since new, now has 267,000 miles on the vortec 350, never been apart, not even a timing chain or valve job.
