Newman Car Creations, Paso Robles, CA

Anyone have any experience with them? My dad found a pretty good deal on one of their tri 5 frames with C4 front and Dana 44 IRS. By the looks of it on their website, they modify stock frames to use C4 components.

It is not like he will ever push the car anywhere near the limit-just cruise down the road.

Curious if anyone has ever had experience with them or their stuff.

Paul's set up works awesome. I did the wheels, tires and alignment on the first 57 chassis he did in the early 90's, and now a good buddy of mine own's that car. Paul's conversion is like driving a prepped BMW. Also we starting to build a 55 Nomad with a LS-7 and a 4L70e transmission with 1 of paul's chassis, this one as his new X-brace, which really stiffens the frame and ton (convertibles have a X-brace).

I think they sit like monster trucks and the wheel selection is limited. It is also a lot of money for a modified stock chassis.

A guy was selling it for less than half of their published prices. I hope it comes out ok.

      Experience with Paul

Our shop is doing a Paul Newman chassis based early Corvette. It runs a converted C-4 chassis and has a LS7/T56 swap. The chassis is pretty low-tech but is a nice compromise, and the car does remain "all-GM". Paul is an intelligent guy and is very helpful. I have nothing bad to say about our experience with him and his products. But I will say his prices are not for the faint of heart!

The car was supposed to be done by now, but nothing ever goes as planned. I will post some opinions after I have driven it.
