People who actually use their vehicles (track, auto-x, drag strip, mud, rock crawling, desert pre-running, whatever) get more credits from me than a guy who trailers his Ferrari Enzo to car shows.

Depends... Does it actually pull a G laterally (or at least close to it)? It looks like it's got quite a bit of sidewall to even have "the look" though. Any chance on swapping out the rims for something a little sportier? Originally Posted by JohnUlaszek

well does the SS silverado count as 4x4. sure stock it sucks, but that can be changed. and wasnt the seirra c3 a 4 wheel drive truck? those were supposed ot be something good too. also i think this 4x4 doesnt need to be a g machine to completely kick ass. www.turbotruck.net

Well, the helmet either means you're one of the short bus people or you're out there actually racing it.
And why does it have to be white? Couldn't you have sprung for an actual color? It looks like you're running late delivering drywall to the construction site.
Anyway, is there an explanation? Or do we have to wait for GM Hi-Tech to hit the stands?

You know I always wear a helmet because my mom tells me to.
The article should be on the newstands within the next day or two and in mailboxes already.
This is my Pro-touring insprired 4x4 that I thought you guys would enjoy reading about. I have found it to be a very functional and fun daily driver that takes an offramp much quicker than it should.
Suspension mods were simple with the addition of a Hotchkis sway bar kit, a 1/4 drop, Bilsteins and an aggessive alignment.
The autotrac transfer case allows terrific launches and worked really well at the autocross.

I like it, nice article, nice job, John. I wish I knew about that AWD option before I bought my EVO 8. Especially since my new shop now could use a shop truck. When are the twin turbos going on it?

Thanks. I have always been a big fan of your caddy. There is nothing cooler than showing up at an event with a vehicle that performs differently than people's preconceived expectations.
I am going to have to stop in at your shop next time I am in Illinois.

I love it! I have autocrossed an S-10 several times at the local SCCA fun runs thru out the years and have had a blast. The truck is 2wd, lowered with eibach springs, eaton posi unit and some bigger rims and tires. I ran in the street prepared class with some nice mustangs/camaros and even though the motor (4.3l and 5 speed) was stock! I can usually run in the top 1/3 of the class before my lack of seat time catches up with me. I have impressed a lot of people in that little truck! I do race karts and have done so a long time, so my driving skills are pretty fair, but it shows with a suspension mods, one does not need gobs of power on the autocross track to do an ok job! I say hell yes a truck can be pro-touring!
