Hiding gas fill up under lic plate on 68?

Has anyone modified their filler pipe to be under the lic plate on a 67 or 68? if so was there any venting or fill up problems?

I thought it would be easy to put a 69 tank in my 67. The far back of the trunk floor had to be modified along with the hole in the valence behind the plate bracket. The 69 plate bracket needed new holes drilled in the valence to install too.

Maybe Jeff S will chime in since he did the mods when it was at his place for the minitub job.

Anyone know? Should I buy the 69 tank or the 68 tank and mod the filler neck?
