      New guy in Charlotte, NC

hey guys...been lurking for a while and just joined up. Love the cars on here and am inspired for my next project. I have a 1975 Doge Dart "Hang 10" that I want to make great street car. I am really inspired by the 70's trans am racing and want to point this Dart in that direction. Going to lower it w/ good suspension and sway bars. Upgrade the discs up front and install discs in the back. Plan on running 17's or 18's. The Dart is a slant 6 car, but is being replaced with a 410 small block. I am a VW guy and this will be my first stab at american muscle (besides the 454 I put in a New Beetle) and I hope get it right. here is a pic of the dart and a couple others of past rides..............

That sounds like a plan. Just give me a shout

Beautiful day in Charlotte today. I drove it to work and came right through Indian trail.

Give me shout when you want to hook up. Someone told me on friday nights at South 21 resturant on Independence they get together for a cruise in. I have not been by there but I will check it out and let you know.

The wave pinstripes on that "Hang Ten' really bring back some memories. A guy in the old neighborhood bought one of those new. Good luck with the project and nice bugs.

yeah the pinstrips sure are one of a kind. This was my greatgrandfathers car that he purchased new in 75. He traded in his 1969 Pontiac Tempest Coupe w/ 6000 miles for it(I have the original bill of sale showing the trade...super cool).

Yes the beetle was built by Johnny Gibbons! He is a awesome guy and has always helped me out. He actually worked on my 73 beetle in the pics and on my VW Corrado. He always helps me out no matter what the project.
