      Hot Rod dvd?

I just resubscribed with Hot Rod magazine to get a hat and now I get this DVD in the mail to "preview" and if I like it to pay them $7 otherwise mail it back with the sticker they put in the box. Do I have to pay them or can I just keep it?

What DVD?? I never got it
Reminds me of the Columbia Record Club. They kept sending unrequested stuff with a time limit to return or you get a bill.
I consider stuff that comes like that junk mail that doesn't even get opened most of the time before it hits the round file cabinet.

      i got it too.

you can legitimately keep it and not pay them a dime since you did not ask for it. (this is in their included letter)
They *request* that if you do not want it, to send it back in the envelope.

But, yeah, ultimately, they hope you'd like it and pay $7, then another comes, and it all starts over again.

Were any of you members of the infamous Power Club?
The extra clips they added to it are worth more to me than the actual info, it is done pretty well considering.

Yeah, I was an "original, founding member" of the Hot Rod Powerclub. I used my discount at Pep Boys to knock $45.00 off a Hurst auto shifter- pretty good return for my money.
I like the DVD they sent- it showed me some actual technique when installing new panels- well worth the $7.00.

Might be worth the $7 but who asked for it?? Yes, I got one and was a bit put off with the sales tactic.

Great mag just not sure what they were thinking.

Am I the only one that thinks this is BS? I am tired of these guys sending sh#t in mail that I have to deal with. I enjoy the magazines and if they want to sell this stuff, put an order form in the mag and whomever wants it can buy it. You sign up with a magazine and now they have the right to send you stuff that you didn't order. Oh if you don't want it, just send it back and pay nothing. What a crock! I'm a sales guy and this is the stuff that gives us a bad rep.

I'm keeping it. If they want it back they can come by my house and get it.

I was pissed they sent this to me, but it was actually a good dvd. Almost 2 hrs. Like others say, it states there is no need to pay or send it back. I would be mad at them for making me take the time to actually read what they sent to find out if i have to pay, but like i said it was actually a good dvd since i am changing out my floor pans now.

      Dream-Build-Drive DVD

I received the 2nd of this series back in January (I sent the $7 for the 1st one). It is very good as well on the subject of quarter panel, wheelhouse and trunk floor. But this one is $24.90 to continue the series. I will say that they are very thorough and keep my interest since I'll be doing a lot of what they teach over the next few years. It may be well worth the expense in the long run. I sure wish they had more information on the WWW, though.
