      "Plan B" 69 Firebird

Hi all I really love the vibe, respect, and great information I have received from all of the members here. Every Question I ask, Good or bad has been answered with none of the typical SEARCH NEWB! ect comments I ussually see on forums.

Not to mention that everyone is very thorough with their Buildups, Photos, and Information. Which helps us that are about to do this ourselves. Thank you and keep up the great work.

A little info about myself, Im a former Army Airborne Infantryman here at Ft Bragg, NC After being injured In Iraq I decided to leave active duty now I'm Just floating in the reserves untill Febuary.

My full time Job is at H&H Performance I am a jack of all trades but I am mainly a Subaru tech, and Tuner( Cobb, Opensource, AEM, ect...)

I've always love Pontiacs, and F-Bodies in general.
When one of the Brothers in my lodge and best friends said he wanted to ditch this car.

      Enter Kate aka "Plan B"

My goal is to make her Fast, Low, Have hella good handling, and be up to the task of driving anywhere I want to.
IE try to emulate some of these Beautiful cars I see here.

and then there is "Plan B"
After I get the body work taken care of, If I get in over my head. I have a 700hp SMC, I'll make Kate into a drag car haha.
With all intentions of making here streetable haha.

So here is what Im working with.
Car is pretty rust free witht he exceptions being the floor boards everything else I see is surface rust, The DS Rear 1/4 Panel was cut off.

My first plans are clean up all of the surface rust spray seome sealer inside of the open panel and weld it up, then either get some new floor pans, or some sheet metal and fix the floors and go from there.

Heres a few pics I have her at the shop. No engine, no trans but it was a manual car. missing the trim tag from the firewall. still has 4 wheel drums, But has a new rear end will get the numbers tomorrow.

Looks like a project! Nice to see another bird around.

I'm sure some will try and convince you to go with a traditional poncho powerplant ;)

      Keep us updated.

haha My wife said if the front end is borked and needs replaced I should get a 69 camaro doghouse haha.

As for the motor, I'd like to do a ls swap. If not it will be a poncho. The SMC is only for plan B haha

Nice to see another First Gen Bird, yet another Rise of the Pheonix project. That is a major project all right.

For First Gen Bird info visit this site. http://firstgenfirebird.org/ubb/ubbthreads.php?ubb=cfrm
Also; http://forums.performanceyears.com/forums/ for performace Pontiac in general.
Between them and this site, my three favorites, you'll get a lot of info and feedback.
      Good luck.

How about a project update? A car waits patiently for years outside while the owner does all this work for other people then I strip the car down to begin work and it gets pushed outside and left for a night and the car gets stolen. ive been going through a few changes in life over the last 2 years. divorce, remarried this time to a woman who actually is actually supportive and has the drive to achieve her goals in life. its pretty great. Looking to get another 1st gen firebird but a friend of mine has a nice 69 charger weve been discussing since he wants to sell it, and I want a nice driver for us and my now 8 year old daughter who is head over heels in love with cars, and spending time with daddy running around the backroads and car shows.

So Time to get going on a fun hotrod family car (other than my 600whp subie haha)

Aww man I was excited to see an old thread get bumped until I read your new post lol. I'm partial to Firebirds obviously but I do like those chargers, so keep us updated on what you get. A 600hp Subie sounds pretty fun. Is that your DD or just a toy?
