Custom Seats and factory seatbelt
I have been lurking around for awhile mostly just reading in the forums. I do not think I have seen this specific issue addressed.
I am installing Procar Elite seats in my 1968 Camaro. The seat is tight against the console, but the molded housing attached to the floor for the lapbelt greatly interferes with he recliner and seat movment. The seats are pretty low right now and I do not want to raise them up much. I had 1985 power IROC seats in previously and they sat too high even when lowered as far as possible.
What are my options? Can I easily remove the retractor, etc from the molded houseing? It is original and I would like not to cut it. Will a generic "lead" clip into the piece that comes from the console side?
Any input will be appreciated.
