Cannonball One Lap
One Lap came to Road America yesterday. I skipped going because it rained and I had other things to do. Last night I got a call from my friend Jim, who was trying to help out one of the competitors who had broken their transmission.
The guys are running an 81 Camaro with a small block and Richmond 6 speed. Long story short, they limped it to our shop at work and we were there until 1:30 this morning taking it apart. They are in touch with a local guy who is rebuilding it. I am waiting for them to call and say they are ready to put it back together.
The owner has run this car the last 19 years in the One Lap. Nice guy from CT. They will have to skip today at Mid America in Iowa and head straight for tomorrow's stop at Texas World Speedway, 15+ hours away.

I finished rebuilding their trans about 1:30 PM Sunday, so hopefully their heading for Texas by now... Crash

They were rolling down 94 a little before 5:00 this afternoon. A little over 1100 miles to College Station, TX.
