      Frame Paint?

If your only option were to paint a bare/sandblasted frame "semi-flat black", what manufacturer/part numbers would you use? Please include the primer type also.

      Thanks in advance.

      POR-15, no primer needed.

The can says this stuff won't chip, so after a couple days dry time, I hit it with a hammer in an inconspicuous part of the frame. I hit it a couple times, HARD... no chips. I don't own por15, I don't sell por15, I don't get a penny for telling you to use it, but, I've used it quite a few times now, and I really do like the stuff.

I second that feeling, really good stuff. Prep is the key thou, has to be perfectly clean, follow the Por-15 directions to the letter, don't skip any steps.

A gallon of DP90 epoxy primer costs as much, if not more, than a gallon of POR 15, and I have used rustoleum and it scratches WAY easier than POR 15. No comparison.

I've always used the rustoleum 7777, but agree that it does scratch easily.

Checkout Kevin's V8TV web site, look over there>>>>>>>>
they just did a chassis with the Eastwood ceramic stuff.

POR15 makes a good product but I would suggest sticking with their line of paint products. Many years ago I had painted over POR15 with another manufacturer's urethane topcoat and the paint delaminated months later. Now, it seems the POR15 company have come up with their own line of topcoats to go over their basecoat so the topcoat concerns are down to a minimum.

Check out their website and they've got some good frame paint etc.,
