      Stainless Steel weld


      How do you produce this kinds of welds.I have 304SS tubing.We want this look on our exhaust tubing.I know its tig welded, what filler rod is used.I had some exhaust welded and its not even close to the way this looks.

      Whoever made that weld didn't start welding yesterday. He (she) probably has a few years behind him. You could use 304 or 308 filler. That being an inside corner weld helps too as that is an easier weld to make than say an outside corner. Easy on the heat and I would think no bigger than 1/16" filler. A pulse tig would be an advantage to some also.

      Prob .040 filler and tungsten ..pulse... purge and a few years of experence

      I would bet that it is also welded in a fixture made of copper to disipate heat and keep argon on the back side of the weld to keep the heat effected area down.

      It could also be machine welded?
