      Grand National 8.5 10 Bolt

Can anyone tell me exactly what I'm pointing to in the 1st picture. I'm assuming its a vent for the gearoil when it gets hot but correct me if I'm wrong. Also in the 2nd picture I'm wondering why one side has a bolt and the other does not. Something must go there. Last can someone verify the numbers for me on the rearend, 3TP G 124 HD. When I checked them last I believe it had 3.42 gears. I haven't had the chance to crawl under my Malibu and compare with the 7.5 10 bolt so I thought I would try here first. THANKS.

Not real familiar with the GN stuff in particular but:

#1 You are correct that is the vent for the center section.
#2 I would assume that is where the "tee" at the axle side of the rear brake flex line mounts. The hardlines to the wheels then attach to the tee.
      #3 No idea..........

yes, that bolt is for the tee where the rubber line goes in and the hardlines tee off of.

I should've just put 2 & 2 together and seen that the hard lines (brakes) connected right there.

Not too sure about decoding the rear but I believe most of the GN's and 442's came with 3:42's.

      GN's had 3.42's & Hurst Olds 442s had 3.73's.
