Type II steering noisy?

I just completed an install of type II GM steering pump on a pontiac and took it on my first cruise. The car still has the factory gm steering box. I noticed a pretty noticeable noise when I steer the car. It sounds like a hydraulic cylinder actuating or something like that. I never really noticed much noise from the old style pump unless I max out the steering and then you could hear it groan a little, but this happen every time you move the wheel.

Anyone else notice noise?
