      700r4 Identification Mods

I bought a motor and trany, freshly rebuilt, and need some help on deciding what I have as far as the trany. It is a 700r4, witha a supposed after market torq converter. I beleive the guy said it was a non lock-up. Is there any way to tell from looking at the t.c. if it is lock up or non lock-up. I think he said 2800 to 3000 stall, behind a 383 possible 450 horse. So I can decide while it is apart if I want to change it out. If it is a non lock up they might have done something inside the trany to so I wouldn't want to waste money on a lock-up one. Good money was spent on the build and it was supposedly set to work well together. Just don't have access to specifics so I thought I could maybe tell somethings from visual inspection with help from here. T.C. has not brand name just what looks like the # 6 stamped all the way around the perimeter. Thanks.

If you would like to give me a call I can walk you through a couple things to look for to determine if this is set up for lock-up or not. I am afraid I will confuse things too much if I type this information. Feel free to give me and call and I will help you out.

      Thanks,
