      My Ride 1968 Firebird

I'm new to the forums with my 1968 Firebird. It has the original 350 2bbl motor and 2 speed superturbine automatic. I would really like the car to have a manual tranny, DD mileage, and the potential for the occasional high 12s pass. After that, I want to adress handeling. Paint and body last!!!http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pi...&id=1061938411

As for engine swaps I'm thinking vortec 5.3, maybe a vortec l31, or LT1 or L67 (I'd think the L67 would be really cool.) I would like atleast a t5 but for torque capacity it seems like I'll have to wait and pony up for a t56.

Welcome! My Bird had the original 350 2V in it for many years. Drove it on vacation trips up to 4000 miles, ran Lime Rock, and hit the strip. 16.4 at the strip was pretty dismal though with the peg leg rear spinning one tire off the line! Good luck with your project!
