I've tried twice to e-mail Mark and both times my mail was returned. Does anyone know if they are still available and where i can get info and purchase these things?

I think that someone a while ago had talked to him about making another production run of them with using his design. I want to say it was ATS but im not positive on that.

Tyler at ATS has them on his website, but I don't know if he has any stock on them. There are two versions, stock height and 1" taller.

whats the deal with the sed spindle?? i remember hearing tyler had go ahead to produce them, but what advantages does it give you?? bigger front tire?? bigger wheel bearing?? someone let me know, i think steilow used them on his 67 red witch camaro that ran zr-1 vette wheels, with 315's out back

The SED spindle was used on the Thrasher, not the Red Witch. The Red Witch used a 'vette spindle with modified factory control arms. I guess it didn't work that great. The original SED spindle is about 1" taller than stock, uses a C4 'Vette sealed bearing assembly, and allows 13" C4 'Vette style brakes to bolt up with no adapters. According to Mark's write up on the Thrasher in CHP (I think), the spindle allows for increased caster, a vastly improved camber curve, and neglible bump steer when set up properly. Tyler at ATS will be producing these in the near future.

thanks nate, they sound like a good deal, do you use factory uca/lca?? or any tubular ca?? i like the sealed bearing part and the better suspension gains, what will they go for??

Teetoe is working on getting the production prototype as we speak. You will not be disapointed for the wait. All I can say is there will be a 1" taller version and stock height. The better geometry comes from the better position of the UBJ.

They use factory uca/lca's. The C4 sealed bearings were around $200 each last time I checked. I think 93-97 camaro bearing assemblies will work too, but I have not verified that myself yet.

I don't know how I missed this thread, but yes ATS will be producing a modified version of the SED spindle.

The 1" taller version improves geometry over the stock setup by raising the upper ball joint. We also have a upper A arm relocation template for this spindle to give even better handling. It uses a sealed bearing assembly, and bolt on steering arm. Any upper and lower control arms can be used with this spindle.

The stock height spindle changes no geometry, so it can be used as an upgrade to a stock spindle, and use anyone manufacturer's geoemtry/arms.
This means if you have a DSE coil over conversion with a DSE tubular upper A arm, you can add this spindle with no ill effects on the designed geometry, yet still get a nice sealed bearing, a bunch of brake mounting options.

Tyler define "near future" I'm trying to do 13" brakes and not many people are making the adapter for the basket, and I was on this thread on the old board with you and a couple others, When will you be making them, and drum roll please, how much???? Thnks Steve

By near furture, I mean Aprilish. Pricing is not completed at this time, so I won't even go there until I have a better understanding of how we are going to make them.

So far Shane and I have tossed around a forged aluminum version, a CNC stainless billet version, and a water-jet cut/Tig welded fabricated version, much like the orginal that Stielow built.

I'll have Shane post a pic.

Per the boss' request here's a model of the current design. Obviously the design will change drastically for a forged or cast design. This is the fabricated design thus far. This spindle will undergo finite element analysis backed up by real world testing. Exact geometry results will follow as soon as the prototype is complete. Hope this helps.

me likey! The only concern for me I that I have been looking at circle trak rearends with the full floating hubs, but I can only get them with a 5 on 5 bolt circle, and I don't want to have to run diff bolt patterns front/back so with that in mind is there enough room on the corvette bearing/hub assembly to drill a 5" bolt circle on it without affecting the strength?

I kinda doubt it. The hub doesn't leave much room for re-drilling.

Check with Coleman Racing for hubs, if they don't offer them in the catalog, they can make a custom version for you.
