Any Project Managers here???

My new job has brought up an unexpected surprise! I need to provide some technical project managment.

I'm only vaguely aware of things like the Stage-gates 7 steps, Six Sigma, etc.

Is there a book for beginners that anyone can recommend? Maybe Six Sigma Lite? 7 easy steps to project managment?

I'm not wanting to dive all the way in since this isn't going to be traditional, full-blown project management.
