Am I okay grinding on my Baer caliper?

I can't get my front flex lines clocked the way they need to be because there is a 1/8" raised area that runs the length of the Baer caliper. I'll get pics up tomorrow, but the extra 1/8" only allows 90 degree rotation of the flex line, and I want to grind the caliper flat so I can spin the banjo bolt 180 degrees. I have an email into Baer, but no response so far.

Do you think I am okay grinding this area flat? I'd hate to find out the hard way that I broke through to something...
