02-25-2008 #2I really like the idea behind the SSBC distribution valve w/ built in proportioning valve. Really simplifies the installation, two fewer fittings, two fewer flares, don't have to make a mount for a seperate prop valve. And it replaces the grungy old distribution block you probably have. If i had it to do over again, i'd have used the combo valve. (This of course assumes that the proportioning feature of that combination valve works well, which I have no reason to assume it wouldn't but I haven't tried it myself)
From what I learned in working with my car.....You may be able to re-use your current distribution block, i did on my car, but you will still need to plumb in the proportioning valve and you will need to eliminate the factory residual pressure valve or you will have dragging rear brakes. Some guys use a much lighter residual pressure valve with their rear discs, 2lb vs. 10lb, but this is typically to facilitate fine-tuning that you may or may not need or want to do once you drive the car (this will depend on a multitude of factors). It's a case-by-case basis kind of thing. I am not running a residual pressure valve and my brakes work very very well.Jeff K.

02-25-2008 #4No problem, these are confusing and stressful concepts for anybody doing it the first time. I know, been there and done that. Feel free to ask questions, EVERY one of us has been through these topics since very few of our cars came with 4 wheel discs. Once you've done it and made it work the first time, you'll feel much more comfortable.
But, as always, you never know everything and somebody always knows more. That's why guys like Tobin at Kore3 and Frank at Prodigy are awesome resources for stuff like this.Jeff K.
