69 Camaro RS/SS wheel backspace
Hello I am new to this forum and was wondering if anyone knew if a 245-45-18 or 245-40-18 would fit on the front of a stock suspension 69 big block camaro..And what backspacing to use?? I have already figured out I can get a 275-40-18 on the back but cant get the front figured. Thanks for the help!!

02-19-2008 #2Both those will work perfectly on the front of your '69.I'm sure several other wheel experts will chime in here.
As far a b/s is concerned,a 4.75" or 4.875" b/s will work nicely on an 8" wide wheel.5" will work fine as well, you'll need to measure however since every one of these cars are slightly different.
On the rears,a 5.5" b/s on a 9.5" wide wheel should be fine with either 275/40's or 285/40's.'67 Buick Skylark GS400 funny car "Ingenue" 8/10 HRM / Gasoline (Swedish) cover & feature 2/12

02-20-2008 #7Your gonna rub some stuff with that backspace. You really need that 4.75 - 4.875 backspace on an 8" wheel.

69 Camaro - LT1 w/ 700R4, DSE springs, swaybar and Konis. Still rockin' it old school with 15" wheels and 60 series tires.
02-20-2008 #8Correct.No matter what size tire,4.5" b/s will be very tight...expect rubbing.
