      Cracked Dash, what to do?

So i'm looking for some input. I'm working on my 93' GMC Sonoma. A few years ago the dash started cracking around the defrost vents. I promptly installed a dash mat to cover it and hopefully keep it from spreading.

I really don't want to keep using a dash mat though. What are my options? I do like the look of a fiberglassed dash, but not sure how to go about doing it and doing it right. What are some other options, or is fiberglassing not too difficult just time consuming? Appreciate any insight to this.

Check out used car dealerships. I knew a guy that go around and make repairs to cigarette burns and he also had an epoxy that he would put on cracks in vinyl areas or soft areas of the interior, and then used a piece of vinyl with similar grains to get the texture back and match to the rest of the area. Then apply a spray dye to blend it in. Looks great. Or you could replace the dash, shouldn't be that difficult. My 96 s10 has the same problems.

Powerblock TV (muscle car) did a episode where they fixed a cracked dash on a car with an epoxy kit you can sand and paint... looked pretty good.. if not I'd check out lmctruck they will have anything you need for restoration parts (not affiliated by the way)

The epoxy repairs will last for awhile and look good but sooner or later its going to come back, Keep your eyes open for a factory replacement, I changed one i had in our shop a few years back for a friend..not that bad to do
