      safety loop location

      Hey guys,

I'm in the garage working on the car and am about to install a driveshaft safety loop. Where does it go? Towards the front, rear, or in the center? My thoughts would be towards the front behind the tranny.

      Thanks,
      Matt

If you want to be NHRA legal it has to be no further back than 6" behind the front u-joint.

The idea is to prevent the front of the driveshaft from falling and digging into the ground if the front u-joint or yoke fails.

      Thanks!
That's the info I needed. I kinda figured it was to keep the front of the driveshaft from entering the passenger compartment.
