I look at it like this, could you have sold the locally for the same $?
      If not you did good.......
If so you should have and made the extra $......
I sell stuff on Ebay I would have to throw away locally so the fees are ok. Also I have a seperate (always empty) account for PayPal, I transfer to my bank I then transfer it to my regular account.

I sold a perfectly good wakeboard on Ebay just before christmas and the buyer said it was damaged when he received it. The item had shipping insurance but he thought that I should be the one that should file the claim with UPS. I did not have the board, Why should I file the claim. He would not send me pictures of the damaged box. He filed a claim with Paypal and with in 10 days they decided that he should get a refund. He did have to send the board back to me at his expence though. When I got the board back the danaged was so defined and clean that I don't feel that it could have happened in a box.
