Fuel sump issue
Has anyone ever tried stuffing a gas tank with foam to prevent the fuel sloshing issue? Would that eliminate the need for a sump? A friend stopped over and said they put it in the stock car tanks to prevent starvation. Any thoughts?

I believe the purpose of fuel tank foam is to prevent an explosion. At least that's the way the tank was constructed (baffles and foam) on my modified dirt track car.
