      Bending Leafs for Ride Height

Is it acceptable to heat and bend rear leaf spring to obtain the desired height?

Wendell is exactly right here... The REASON you don't want to do this is; Leaf springs are made from tempered steel (spring steel) and, as soon as you put a torch to them to "rebend" them, they will lose all of their temper and springiness in the area you have heated. This will lead to broken leafs in a very short time which will not be good... This is nothing to be done at home. Take W's advice and go to a spring shop to have then re-arched...

Mark is more indulgent than I am. Hell, he's probably a better person than I am.
