Anyone need any '05 Viper Parts?

I'm an insurance adjuster and came across this while looking for one of our insured's vehicles in FL. This is not one of our claims, but I couldn't help imagining the story behind this one. Note the mileage....

Maybe it fell off the delivery truck? That thing still has the window sticker in the windshield and airbag tag in the dash.

I wouldn't mind swapping that entire drivetrain into something much nicer, like a '69 Charger or '71 'Cuda.

When i went test driving cars in denver, we went to the dodge dealership (friend drove an SRT4, and they mentioned that a dodge viper was wrecked on a test drive by a saudi prince...he was laughing after he totalled the car ( we saw the skid marks too it was impressive).

as a snot nosed kid working at the dealer stuff like that happened once in awhile...I whacked a curb in a new RX-7...slammed second and the thing went totally sideways and touched the curb enough to chew the rim real bad.. ..took it back and parked it....stuff hit the fan later..good thing I did work on the bosses cars he was stealing on trade in and curbing around the dealership...a little back room talking saved my job and it was swept under the rug as dunno who did it?????

thats funny my buddy did the same thing. the last time i convinced him to do a burn out in one of the dealer cars he was driving...well needless to say he lost his job about as fast as the driveshaft breaking in half

It happens a lot more than you might think,I have seen many new cars totaled on test drives. As much as this costs I would think it would have to be at least approved for credit to buy before the dealer would allow it to be driven. It did not even blow the bags, probably totaled for lack of repair parts. I bet it sells at the auction for a lot more than I would be willing to pay for it even if I had the cash.

Sadisco is an insurance salvage sale, meaning the insurance company paid off enough to deam it either rebuildable, or Certificate of Destruction. the site does not yet list title statues, but I am certain it is rebuildable.
We will watch to see when it comes up, but I would bet it does $40K, Looks like $20k would fix it. It will probably go accross the pond. Where it will go into the country wrecked at a low value like $20K, to skirt duty (maybe 70% or so), then be rebuilt there.
I am betting it was stolen off the showroom floor.
I am on the e mail list, I will let all know when it comes up for conversation sake.

Anybody wanting a viper drive train, here's your chance. It looks to be pretty bad off but I guess the drive train's ok. Its located in Ottawa, Ontario.... ya, thats Canada. Here's the link:

The engine looks ok so I would guess theat the rest is good also. The left front suspension looks like its the most damaged part of the mechanicals. Now if I had $24K and a nice Cuda done up AAR or Challenger in R/T style body :icon996:
