      Header Modification to clear steering column

      What is the best way to clearance a coated header to clear for steering column that is too close? I would like to avoid chipping the coating if at all possible. I would like to find another method rather than a socket and a hammer and....

      possible to heat the pipe where it needs denting then slowly compress it using a g clamp with a piece of wood at the back and curved piece of steel shaped like a D at the front . Not to hot so it discolors the coating but enough so its softer than the opposite side.
