Newb in central Florida (727)
My name is Andy, and my car is a fox mustang hatch. I am so glad that I found this site, as I have been blown away by the amount of information that has been posted here. I first found this site on the black screen on the DCC site, and looked on here for dcc information. Is anyone in the Tampa, Fla. area ?

01-10-2008 #2Welcome aboard Andy,
There are quite a few Florida guys here. I'm in St. Cloud which is basically a " half a state away ". You will definitely find some great information here and see some ground breaking cars being built. I find that i cant stay away from this forum for more than a day.
I noticed your sig has an 89 SSC. I was fortunate to have owned one of those a few years back (saved it from a teenager with an inheritance who was trashing it) and truly miss that car to this day, mine was # 110 i sold it to a friend locally but a few years ago he moved to Ohio and took it with him, so doesn't look like i'll get to "buy it back". Make sure you share some pictures of your project or you will probably get a lot of this,

What are your plans for the SSC? Once again welcome to the forum
Jack

Im in Lakeland, off I-4 not too far away. I dont get on this site much either.
I sometimes daily drive my 71 Nova which at one time I intended to make into a pro-touring style car but it never happened. I mostly drive my 1993 GMC Typhoon.
What's a dcc site??
01-10-2008 #4My mustang is not the real SSC, but is as close as I could get. Number 184 was a total loss in an accident, and the car was parted out. My car started out as an 1988 GT, and received the full conversion . The only parts that are not from the SSC #184 ,is the front airdam (1990 +) and the 93' cobra grill insert. The GT the parts were installed on was never crashed, and is one of the cleanest foxes that I have seen. I was bitten by the 'FUN CAR '' bug a couple of years ago , and found this car on the internet. I wanted to buy a Saleen s351R, but could not find the color combo that I was looking for. Then I found the car I have, and since it is a re-body I do not feel bad turning it into the car that I want. I will get some pics posted soon.
01-10-2008 #5I sold my 1993 GMC Typhoon about 1 1/2 years ago to buy a suburban to haul the family around. The Ty that I owned was #1121. It was red with grey cladding. I sold it to my father that lives in seminole, fl. I really miss that truck, and my 2 boys are always asking me when we are going to buy the Ty back. Would you happen to know of antone that is good trouble shooting these trucks in this area? It has boost control problems right now, and no one can seem to fix the issues. My first car was a 1975 Nova hatchback custom. It came with factory bucket seats and floor mounted shifter. I have only seen one other car with these options, and am wondering if that was the car I should of held on to.

Welcome to the site Andy, nice looking Mustang! I'm out in Brandon, so just down the road from Tampa. I'm not on here as often as I would like, but try to read up a couple times a week.

Welcome. I'm up in Orlando going to school (UCF). I actually live in Deerfield Beach, though. (20 minutes south of WPB).
So how bad really was the smoke/fog yesterday?
