      69 12 bolt housing Help!!!

I have a 69 12 bolt Camaro housing with a major problem. When my mechanic started to assemble the rearend, it came to his attention that the carrier bearing race had spun on one side of the carrier. This wore on the housing. Now, when you put the carrier in and tighten the caps, you can turn the race with your finger. That is how badly the housing is eaten out. Not only has it worn away, but it has also worn in a somewhat oval shape. I was told they make oversize races. Does anyone know of a machine shop that can align bore the rearend without taking the axle tubes out? I have several around here that can do it with no axle tubes. I don't want to have to pull the tubes, though. It is an good date code (69) and a valuable housing. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks

I doubt you will find anyone that can align hone it with the tubes in. its the same as align honing and engine, the block must be bare.

Depending on the amount over sized i've seen guys stake the race in. The rear end is only worth money on the re sale so I would worry too much about it. Buy a new housing.
