Yep, I'm a little tall for the passenger seat. My head was touching the roof before I put the helmet on, so I was a little cramped. Harness was tight though, lol.

Its funny, everyone always asks if the car was sectioned, because it looks so short. The car is stock as far as the height goes, but the early Mustangs are quite a bit shorter between the roof skin and the rocker, then a Camaro. If you look at the height of the door, its probably 3 inches shorter then a 69 Camaro door.

This causes head room problems with taller passengers. The roll cage is as high and tight to the roof as possible. When I put the seats in the car, and drove it a bit, I took the drivers seat and laid it back which fixed the head room issues for me. David and Robert both noticed the lack of head room on the passenger side, they were the first to mention it, I guess I will have to lay that seat back as well. Payton drove my Mustang in Tenn., with me in the passenger seat. The seat is way to upright, kind of uncomfortable, never been on that side of the car.

You can the height difference between Payton amd my cars

I think that it was more Robert than me, I was comfortable for the most part, the only thing that bothered me was the non padding on the bars around the head area.
I am taking notes for my 69 from your car. LOL!
Iam going to put sound an heat insulation in mine LOL! An pad the bars for street driving with out a helmet.
But you know i love your car an it keeps getting better as you work on it.
Build it, drive it ,make it better! I like the concept.

Its funny, the roll bar pads are cut, fitted, and setting on my toolbox (worst part is they are adhesive backed, peel and stick). They have been on my toolbox since before Motorstate, shows you how backed up my life is these days. I was so focussed on the important stuff (looks) i.e. the nose job, that I couldn't possibly be bothered with saftey devices.

I drove Payton's car at RTTHs, and that is a NICE car. I had almost forgotten that muscle cars could be that comfortable, and pleasant to drive. In fact I think Payton talked me into (maybe) putting interior in this bucket.

I'd love to see what you can come up with for an interior that would flow with the exterior. I kinda like it how it is though.

I'm not talking about becoming a pleasure cruiser. Just some sound deadening and something on the floor and door panels. The Kirkeys are pretty comfortable along with the ride, but the noise level has your ears ringing after an hour or so.

Just use flat vinyl over pressboard, like a cab. Maybe in the same grey colour. And industrial grey carpet.

Maybe some panels on the doors and back seat/trunk area to seal out the extra sound some? If you knock a few dBs off of it, it might be more bearable on long trips without resorting to earplugs.

That fish eye shot makes your car look like a "Beetle" ;-)
PS this thread hooked me on Pro-touring.com. I am totally impressed with what you did, with what you had to begin with.
My only question is, When you work this hard on a project, do you still know what your wife looks like???
