      I need to do something like that to my 1970 Camaro. I just hate to cut out perfectly good floor boards.

      The more I break up the blue the more I like it.I hope the paint doesn't sink too bad,because I really don't feel like buffing it and I like it how it is {I guess time will tell}

      Are you doing something to the firewall? Looks to be gray from this angle.

      I like the straps. I have similar plans. Did you use riv-nuts to affix them?

      The firewall needs to be touched up,but it stays grey like the interior,the cowl goes flat black though

      I've never had much luck with those things,the bolts go in good,but when you go to remove them,the inserts always spin and leave you saying lots of curse words.I thought ahead for once and welded in the tapping plates in before I installed the rear filler panel,and drilled all the way though the roof and nut and bolted it.Had to use a unibit to drill the brace on the inside to get it big enough to get the socket in there.

      I don't know if I'm just so used to looking at it,but it kind of looks normal.The quarters, now that they are smoothed and in color don't look freakish anymore,looks like something Ford could have built.Maybe it will look stupid again once I put the fenders back on.Ron

      Excellent point. You aren't going to be running a headliner are you?

      Lets see...the odds of me getting flush riveting a nut plate in? Poor. I haven't pounded a rivet in 9yrs.

      Nut-sert....risky.

      Nut/bolt....safe but crude and once the headliner is in.....just as big a problem.

      The proportions are good, and you blended the flare in quite a way out on the long axis of the car. If you'd been more acute with that curve or gone with something like a 70's bubble flare, or 320i box flare it would have looked like ass.

      I think there are two ways to do that to an early Mustang and have it look good. Yours, and Preston's. Everything else......not so much.

      Totally agree. This as opposed to the Mustang they are building on "Musclecar" on Spike (TV). The flares they did look like ass in compairison, and I bet its about the same width.

      I can't say enough about this car! Love it.

      Is there a roll or a flange of the wheelhouse opening? It looks like something is added there to reinforce, just can't tell what it is
