      Nova w/ B-Body spindles & brakes.

Anyone ever use this combo on their Nova. Buddy has a 72 Nova and wants to make the swap from stock drums to B-body spindles/brakes. Anybody ever try this?

      Won't work.

B body spindles are front steer, 72 Nova is rear steer, ball joint tapers are different as well.

Thanks Tyler, I'll make sure he reads this. Any idea what swap would be easy for him? I need to have him join instead of doing his research for him.

ATS AFX spindles will work, give him the taller spindle he's after (presumably for improved negative camber gain), and correct the bumpsteer issues. Another option would be to perform the Guldstrand Mod and/or some variant of tall ball joints and adjustable SPC uppers from SC&C. I chose SC&C for my Nova, but both are good choices...it just depends on how he intends to drive his car and what his budget allows for.

The AFX spindles will cost more up front, but if he's looking to go with C5/C6 brakes, he'll save the cost of adapter brackets and possibly hubs as they'll just bolt-on. This all assumes that your friend is going to be running 17" or larger wheels to fit the brakes, ball joints, steering arm, etc.
      It's what I does.

Hes on a really tight budget and thought about the B-body swap because I have that on my Malibu (78). He wanted to know if it would work on his Nova (72) or not. Hes more interested in a stock disc brake swap from a Camaro or Chevelle if it'll work. The Nova will only be a driver to enjoy with his kids and not something he would run on a track or roadcourse so he'd like to keep it simple. I will be passing all this info on to him to read for himself though.

Well figure these guys just saved him a bunch of work and wasted parts....gotta be worth something.

Can't get any simpler than the AFX spindle. You kill at least 4 birds with one spindle.

I have a few in stock just let me know and i'll even deliver. im also working on a custom abutment so you can run 98-02 Camaro front disc and 12" rotors.
