i cant find the can to give the oart# all i can say is that its put out by ppg and its call flexNflat and you need a hardener. if i can find them will let you know

I played around with that HotRod Flatz & didnt really care for it.
I bought a quart of burnt orange color & that shot flat ,then I decided to go flat black bought a quart to play around & shot test panel & came out glossy ,called the company & never really got it to work.

So ended up using flex & flat clear over DP90

I've used a lot of PPG's FlexnFlat clear. I think the number is DCU2060. You can vary the flatness by the amount of regular clearn and hardner that you blend into it. Straight up, it's about a 50 degree gloss which is probably what most people want. A little extra hardner (and I do mean a little) will gloss it up a bit so accurate mixing is parmount.


It's a nice product in that you can wash oil and dirt off with soap and water without scuffing it. I've also used grease and wax remover on it to clean the surface. I would never use polish or wax though.

Thats a shame to hear. I like how the Flatz come's in a bunch of different colors and even pearls. I guess best bet is to try a quart of a particular color and go from there...

I really like the way that looks... I plan on doing my car in DP90 for a while until I am able to afford an entire paintjob.

no its a two stage base coat and clear, but the hot rod black by hot hughes is single stage

If you want a single stage option from PPG, take a look at "Under Hood Colors" for OEMs in their chip book. GM in particular seemed to have some nice semiflats.
