      watts link kits

hey all, Im 80% leaning towards building out a three link for the chevelle and I want to use a watts link as opposed to a panhard bar. Id like some suggestions on kits out there I can adapt into the car. Also Im not 100% sure what the better option is regarding how the propeller is mounted, either to the pumpkin or mounted on a braket (like the lateral dynamics setup). Im lookin for ease of install on this and preferably one that uses the least amount of tubing back there. I dont like the overly cluttered look of some of the watts links not to mention the packaging issues that are to be expected from it. Oh Im gonna use a fab9 rearend in it if that makes any difference.

The consensus is that a chassis-mounted "propellor" is slightly superior dynamically. Axle roll steer and total roll moment vary less with suspension movement when the roll centers follow the ride height than when they remain at a fixed height.

Of course, if the roads in your area are generally decent you could run somewhat firmer rear springs (and a lighter rear sta-bar) with a pumpkin-mounted propellor and there probably wouldn't be a whole lot of handling difference between that and an otherwise identical car with it chassis-mounted. Might want to tinker with the front springs/bar for ride quality reasons (suspension ride frequencies and "flat ride") though.

ok, is there any non-specific kits out there available? Ive seen a bunch for mustangs and camaros but obviously a chevelle doesnt need one so there isnt gonna be a car specific kit for me. Ive come across one from www.totallypolished.com but it really seems to be geared toward layframe minitrucks. Other than that the rest are for stangs that went to a torque arm or for the new 05-up stangs.

No real specific kits for a chevelle but if you look to http://www.racerpartswholesale.com or www.colemanracing.com you should be able to piece a set up together. PM Sinned for info on this.

Sorry I wasn't able to get pictures for you, he is being very incorporative.

If you're just looking for parts to cobble together a 3 link, lefthander and coleman will have all the propellers and brackets you need.

For what I think you have in mind, just mount the propeller on the back of the 9". Good luck.
