      Stainless U-Bolts?????

Does anyone know who else sells them besides DSE?

Don't get me wrong, I think their parts are top notch, but $200 for a set seems high.

Using a stainless fastener in a structural application would make me pretty nervous, especially one that holds the back end of a car together.

Thanks esc1, I'll look into them.

Carl, I hear what your saying, but DSE has them and claim to be stronger then grade 8 if I remember correctly, so I figure if it's the right tensile strength it would be ok.

+1 ... I thought that stainless fasteners were too brittle for using on suspension and steering?

People are often confused by the statement:

Harder does not always mean stronger.

If its designed for the purpose then it should be safe. Waste of money and risk of failure in my opinion.

Those are for check writers that will never use a car to its ability. Great for Pro-Bling...

ok, stainless u-bolts are off the table.

Thanks to everyone for their input. I'll go with the zinc DSE ones.
