Help just a few ?s
I have couple questions about seam sealers, should this be applied before, after the epoxy primer, or does it matter? Is the 3m sealer at Orielly's ok to use or is there something better? Thanks for the help.

11-27-2007 #2I always seam seal after priming. Some products say they can be used on bare steel, but why chance it. There are a lot of different 3M sealers, all work well, for what they are labeled for. Some are heavy bodied, some thinner. Some are solvent based, some are more odor free. I've always had great luck with 3M. Normally I seal over new primer, if it's fresh, but dry, caulk away. If it's been sitting you might want to scuff it a little with scotchbrite first. Then you can topcoat after it's set.

I would prime first as well. 3M IMO has the market beat on seam sealers especially there 2 part ones which is what I would use.
