Dead Optima??

My experience with Optimas is that they are not up to the hype. I've had several because I thought maybe I was just getting a bad one, but every one that I have had hasn't lasted very long at all. Charging system was putting out correctly and I even switched from a one wire setup on the alternator to a three wire setup to try and make sure that it was charging correctly. I had to go and buy a couple of regular acid batteries once I got to Detroit for the Dream Cruise this year because both of my Optimas crapped out after loading the car on the trailer and hauling it the ~7 hours up there. I have used a trickle charger and they still have left me standing with jumper cables when I was away from the house...
