18's are easy...just make sure you hit the right back spacing....

Any plans on lowering the car?

18 x 9.5 with 5.5" bs on a 285/35/18 tire is the max you can go in the rear with modifing anything Thats for my 69' so if the 67's are the same then it applies to you. If i roll the lips and space the wheel out a bit i can fit 295's i think.

I'm running 18x8 and 18x9.5 with no issues, make sure your backspacing is right on as jy211 said, that is key! My fronts have 5"bs and rears have 5.75bs.

How do you choose the back spacing correctly. I have a 67 firebird with the 4 piston calipers in the front and drums in the back with multi leaf conversion. 2 inch drop coils in front and 1.5 drop in back. How would I determine this?

That is really the best way, but if you have a 1st gen f-body with stock track width (which I think you do) then there are sizes that are known to work well on that car.

If your car already has wheels on it, you can measure the backspacing & width of the current wheels and figure out how much room you have on both sides. This gets more critical when trying to push the limits with big wheels & tires.

The typical sizes people run on these cars are a 17X8" in front with a 4.75" backspace and a 17X9.5" in back with a 5.5" backspace. Tire sizes are usually 245s and 275s front/rear. This is about as big as you can go without mini-tubs, etc.

I was thinking of using the same size of wheel front/ back, then being able to rotate. And yes I plan on lowering the car, been reading the forum on what I can do. Going to replace upper/ lower control arms as well as brakes. Was thinking of drop spindles don't know now?

An 8" wheel with a 4.75" backspace all around would be what you would probably want if you are not going to do staggered sizes. There are a couple guys running 9.5" wide wheels and 275s on all 4 corners, but it is a tight fit and you have to make some modifications & sacrifices to run that size in the front.

I'd say go with a 245/40/18 on those 8" wheels and you should be good to go.

You might be able to do a 9" wheel all-around. I have no experience with 18" wheels on these cars, but I do know what works well in 17" sizes. Maybe a 9" with a 5.25" backspace? That would certainly work in the rear, but may require tubular control arms for clearance and limit some turning radius in the front.
