      It's Official...Project: NoGo

Well the old post had a number of good ideas but Zee has finished the rendering and I have the car pictured just as I want it to be. This thread will have the pictures of my previous thread but I will hopefully be able to add even more in the next few months...

      Here is where we started:

And I would like to take a moment and thank Zee (aka ZVT)...I think he did an amazing job with this, Zee really helped me to visualize my project and I cannot thank hime enough for this! For anybody looking to do a rendering in the future, strongly consider ZVT, he was great to work with, extremely patient, and very talented as you can see...And now... without any further adieu, I present, Project : NoGo

Right now these are the plans for the car...

-Minitubbed with the DSE Quadralinked Rear set up for a 12 bolt POSI
-The interior will be completly FatMatted to reduce noise and heat and the color scheme of it will probly be black leather and polished alumininum accents
-We are looking at the Sparco Modena seats
-The plan is to add a 6speed manual (probly a TKO) to the back of a 396 which should be pushing 400-500 naturally
-To connect all of the power we are going to have a carbon fiber drive shaft, which not only looks awsome but does a great job
-As far as the body mods go, it should have 2 inch cowl and all the badges shaved off, I would love to have the doors shaved but we will see how the project develops, it will also have some DSE subframe connectors
-The car will be running Forgeline SP3P wheels 8" wide in the front and 12" in the rear, I think it is going to be a 18/19 staggered setup
-Behind the wheels will have 13" Wilwood Brakes for some sure fire stopping power
-Up front it is also going to get the full DSE treatment, It will have a DSE front clip with all the goodies on it
-Its gonna have a nice system in it, nothing crazy but something that sounds good.
-Still have yet to decide on a cage setup, not sure if we want a full cage or just something less that adds to the structural rigidity of the body

Personally I like the dual wheels on the primered version the best. But the rendered version will probably look nice too. LOL!

      Good luck with the project.

If you can keep on track and make the finished product look like the rendering, you're going to have one SWEET Nova! I like it a lot!

Maybe I should get a rendering done of my Chevelle. How much did it cost?

yes...its pretty solid, the only body work it really requires is a new drivers side floor pan (this one is all dented, its strange, almost as if something large hit the bottom) a patch on the drivers side rear quarter (there is a 2" x 8" strip that was rusted through so were gonna fix that) there are a few spots around the rear window that need to be fixed, the previous owner minitubbed it already but did a shoddy job so the welds on started to rust, we are going to replace them any ways so we can run larger wheel/tire combo's out back, aside from all of that its not too bad

my dad and I are trying to figure out which way we want to go as far as chassis/suspension set up, initially we were leaning towards a full DSE setup, the hydroformed subframe fully loaded, and the quadralink out back, now we are considering a full chasis car...we are looking at the MaxG chassis or maybe the Vennom Chassis...not entirely sure which im leaning more with at this point, the Vennom Chassis front suspension does not incorporate c5 corvette componenents which is something I would really like in a full frame chassis whereas the Max G does...

for those that have not seen the Vennom Chassis:

      and their website:
      http://www.vennom.com/

and of course the MaxG chassis:

and the website you all know:
      http://www.artmorrison.com/index.php

if anybody has any suggestions please throw them out there, everything is really hectic right now, Im busy applying to colleges and all that wonderful stuff and my father is travelling so the project is somewhat frozen due mostly to the lack of time...

the other thing that I have been wondering, how do you get sponsors on a build?

Thanks for the interest everybody and I will be sure to keep you updated as soon as we have developments!

i myself have been thanking about the morrision max-g chassis, i saw it at a local car show (good guys they had a booth) its amazing, best part for me is they are here in washington and just down the block from my new job. i just have to take the factory tour some time.

The only thing i really dont like about their frame is that you have to build completly new floor pans, a custom job like johns nova.. but the chassis is amazing and the guys are really nice. I would go with the morrison chassis as its already been proven on the track and if you up to the challenge of making all new floors then thats the way i would go.

I spoke with them and they said that they can alter it to fit a 70 nova, the wheelbase on a 70 nova is 111" as opposed to their chassis 109" wheelbase
