      Need Help On Primer

Have sanded my car down to metal.
Now I am asking for recommendations on what would be the best way to go from here. Primer, basecoat, clear, etc.
      My first paint project.

      Thanks.

if you got bare metal go with a epoxy type primer first.

It's not a good idea to leave a car in bare metal for any length of time. It should be coated with epoxy primer very soon as stated above.

      Primer/paint

Is there a specific primer you recommend?
      Brand and part number?

      Thanks.

One reasonably cost effective option is the epoxy from Southern Polyurethanes that you can have shipped to you. I've also used their 2K high build primer. Barry is very helpful and they ship quickly, usually the same day.

DP40 (different colors are available, for example DP90) from PPG is another option that you can probably find locally.

Make sure you wear a high quality respirator. Epoxy primer is some serious stuff that you don't want in your lungs.

Lots of good information over on camaros.net in the bodyshop forum and also in the tech archives.

      Primer

OK, I was told that if I use PPG, Dupont, etc, then it is best to use the same brand for paint, reducer and clear.

You can use different primer than the finish coats but It is a good Idea to keep all the same brand products.
