S-10 frame under 53 Studebaker Commander?

A friend of mines son is doing a build up on a Stude which currently has a stock rear frame section with an early 70's nova front subframe welded to it. It's got a Chrysler 383 between the rails he'd like to keep. Concerns about too much power for the frame and the desire to make the car handle and brake well have him thinking he should drop the body on a newer chassis.

With the orig Stude and S-10 wheelbase being 120 inches and S-10's being plentifull and reasonably priced an S-10 looks to be a suitable possibility. He's been working on it a couple years and still has lots of time before he's old enough to drive it but not tons of cash for custom frame options. And by the way the 59 in the background is his YOUNGER brothers! Anyone have any experience ,info comments on a frame swap for thses cars?
