I do have another thought. Look arround for a hydra boost set up, use braided steel lines and make them run in a more hidden way.
AS for getting away from a "ugly" booster why not try a smaller bouble diaphram unit adapted to your car and clean it up and paint to match.
With manual brakes you wont like the stopping without spending some big cash to get everthing just right.
I have a 77 Monza And I am looking into using a hydraboost unit on it to free up soem space or even convert an electroboost unit from some car(this means it will have the pump ran electricly and self contained,,,and it may even work in with my prototype ABS setup too.
But good luck in your quest and Ill try to look up some parts ideas as I didg through parts books my self.
